Integration of Railway Undertakings into the European Transport System as a Direction for Efficient Use of Ukraine’s Transit Potential<\/h2>\n

Abstract. Introduction.<\/strong> The article deals with the issue of integration of Ukrainian rail transport enterprises into the European transport system as a direction for efficient use of Ukraine’s transit potential.<\/p>\n

Purpose.<\/strong> Today, European integration is one of the most important and key priorities of Ukrainian policy. In order to create favorable conditions for integration, transport needs to develop at an accelerating pace, and Ukraine’s transport policy must be tailored to the requirements of the European Union. This explains the relevance of this study.<\/p>\n

Results.<\/strong> The place of Ukraine in international transport organizations is determined and their influence on the transport policy of the country is revealed. It is found out that in order to integrate Ukraine into the European Union as soon as possible, it is necessary to harmonize the national legislation of Ukraine with the European standards, in particular in the transport sector. It is proved that such necessity of coherence of the legal acts regulating transit transportations and their forwarding service, and also necessity of implementation of the corresponding EU directives, which were fixed in the relevant annexes of the Association Agreement, makes the existence of legal preconditions for improvement of the mechanism of use of the transit potential of the transport potential of enterprises. A number of directives have been analyzed, reflecting the stages of development and formation of European railway law, the accession of which will provide \u201cthe possibility of increasing the competitiveness of domestic railway transport and the possibility of importing new technologies and technical solutions for the modernization and technical re-equipment of rolling stock and track facilities of railway undertakings.<\/p>\n

Conclusions.<\/strong> Ukraine is actively engaged in the integration of railway undertakings into the European transport system. The implementation of the tasks set, in particular the implementation of the Ukrainian transport legislation to the requirements of the European Union will allow to use the country’s transit potential more effectively, and will allow Ukraine to occupy a leading position in the European market of international freight transportation.<\/p>\n
