Conceptual Framework for Managing Multinational Teams in the Context of Globalization of the IT Industry

Abstract. Introduction. The article focuses on the problem of managing multinational teams in the context of globalization of the IT industry. The issue of effective management of culturally diverse teams has been studied by both domestic and foreign authors, experts in economics and management.

Purpose. The development of a conceptual framework for the management of multinational teams is an important direction in ensuring the efficiency of IT companies, which indicates the relevance of this article. The peculiarities of multinational teams in the IT industry, the challenges of intercultural interaction, and ways to overcome them are considered.

Results. It is argued that the fundamental basis for managing multinational teams is to take cultural differences into account when building a management system. The scope, dynamics, composition, and structure of actual processes in multinational IT teams are analyzed to assess the processes of formation and functioning of such teams in companies. A conceptual model of managing multinational teams is created, which integrates management of cultural diversity, development of intercultural competencies, adaptation of management processes and their strategic alignment with corporate goals.

Conclusions. The methodological foundations for the empirical validation of the proposed model are evaluated. This allowed the formulation of generalized suggestions for further research and implementation of the model in the practice of managing international IT companies. In the future, it is recommended to focus on developing intercultural competencies of managers, adapting management tools to the cultural context, and cultivating a “third culture” of the team that combines elements of represented cultures and unique features of the team.
