Factors and Mechanisms of Startup Ecosystem Development in Ukraine<\/b><\/p>\n

Abstract. Introduction. <\/i><\/b>In the context of digital transformation and intensifying global competition for talent, capital, and technologies, as well as systemic challenges caused by wartime risks and macroeconomic instability, developing the startup ecosystem in Ukraine has become strategically important. The formation of this ecosystem depends on several interrelated factors, including human capital, access to financial resources, the quality of the institutional environment, the level of digital infrastructure development, and entrepreneurial culture. These components not only determine the ability to generate innovations, but also the capacity to scale them, integrate into global markets, and ensure long-term economic growth.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Purpose<\/i><\/b>.The purpose of the article is to systematize the key factors of development of the startup ecosystem in Ukraine, to assess its current state within the global innovation environment, and to substantiate the mechanisms of its formation, support, and scaling.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Methods.<\/i><\/b> The study takes a systemic approach, combining elements of innovation theory, entrepreneurial ecosystem analysis, and structural assessment. Methods such as analytical generalization, comparative analysis, SWOT analysis, and evaluation of international rankings are used to identify the key factors, interconnections, and structural constraints of ecosystem development.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Results.<\/i><\/b> The research reveals that Ukraine has significant human and engineering potential and the ability to generate innovative solutions; however, the development of its startup ecosystem is constrained by limited access to financing, institutional fragmentation, regional imbalances, and incomplete integration into global innovation networks. Key development factors are systematized and the main mechanisms of ecosystem formation and support are identified. These include institutional-regulatory, financial-investment, organizational-infrastructural, educational-scientific, and digital-technological components.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Conclusions.<\/i><\/b> The effective development of Ukraine’s startup ecosystem requires transitioning to a comprehensive approach that ensures coordination between institutional policy, financial instruments, education, and innovation mechanisms. The startup ecosystem should be considered a strategic driver of innovation-driven growth, economic resilience, and post-war recovery.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n
