Tokenization of Financial Assets in the Context of the Digital Transformation of the Ukrainian Economy
Abstract. Introduction. The development of digital technologies is significantly transforming the financial sector, contributing to the emergence of new business models, financial products and services. Innovations in the field of fintech, digital banking, cryptocurrencies and tokenized assets are shaping a new paradigm for the functioning of finance in the 21st century. Asset tokenization and digital currencies expand financial inclusion, increase market efficiency and liquidity. In Ukraine, the digital transformation of the financial sector is an important factor in economic development, which necessitates the study of current trends, challenges and prospects of this process.
Purpose. The main goal of the study is to identify trends in the digital transformation of the financial sector, improve the main directions of asset tokenization development, and predict its impact on the economy of Ukraine.
Results. In Ukraine, active digital transformation is being carried out under the leadership of the Ministry of Digital Transformation, which implements the projects “Diya”, “Diya.Business” and “Diya.City”, aimed at developing electronic services, supporting entrepreneurship and creating favorable conditions for the IT sector. These initiatives have contributed to the attraction of more than 1,500 resident companies, saving more than UAH 14.7 billion and stimulating the development of the startup ecosystem through the Ukrainian Startup Fund. Ukraine is also implementing a strategy for the digital development of WINWIN innovations, which will contribute not only to a technological breakthrough, but also to the reconstruction of the country, ensuring its sovereignty and integration into the global innovation community.
The forecast for the development of tokenized financial instruments on the US stock market indicates steady growth until 2030, in particular, stablecoins and digital treasury bonds demonstrate the greatest growth. This confirms the growth of trust in digital assets and their integration into traditional financial systems. The SWOT analysis revealed that the main advantages of tokenization are liquidity, transparency, and accessibility, while the main risks remain regulatory uncertainty and technological challenges.
Conclusions. Thus, digitalization is a key factor in the transformation of the financial sector, contributing to process automation, increased efficiency and financial inclusion. The introduction of blockchain, tokenization and FinTech solutions creates new opportunities for businesses and consumers, while requiring proper regulation and cyber protection. Ukraine’s digital initiatives, in particular “Diya”, “Diya.City” and the WINWIN 2030 strategy, are important drivers of innovative development and modernization of the economy. Effective legal regulation of digital assets has been identified as a key condition for Ukraine’s integration into the global financial space. The use of blockchain technologies in the tokenization of financial instruments helps optimize operations, reduce costs and expand investment opportunities.
