Development of a scientific and methodological toolkit for assessing the management of economic security provision in agrifirms
Abstract. Introduction. Under the current conditions of agribusiness, characterized by a high level of market instability, increasing financial risks, and the intensification of external threats, traditional approaches to the assessment of economic security no longer ensure a comprehensive and reliable representation of the effectiveness of management processes. Accordingly, there is a need to develop a scientific and methodological toolkit that enables a quantitative assessment of the effectiveness of managing the provision of economic security and a systematic analysis of the key areas of agrifirm activities, providing an integrated evaluation of the enterprise’s core potentials and supporting informed managerial decision-making.
Purpose. The purpose of this article is to develop a scientific and methodological toolkit for assessing the management of economic security provision in agrifirms.
Results. The article presents a scientific and methodological toolkit for assessing the management of economic security provision in agrifirms. The study included a review of previous research, identification of the main shortcomings of existing approaches, and justification of the relevance of the toolkit. The research defined its objectives, demonstrated the practical application of an integral indicator with weighted spheres, and implemented a matrix for strategic balancing of threats and advantages to quantitatively assess the ratio of an agrifirm’s advantages to threats. Additionally, a map of managerial vulnerabilities and development reserves was created to provide a comprehensive assessment of threats and managerial potential, and an indicator of strategic managerial tension was introduced. The study highlights the scientific novelty of the toolkit and outlines prospective applications for evaluating the management of economic security provision in agrifirms.
Conclusions. The article proposes an authorial scientific-methodological toolkit for assessing the management of ensuring the economic security of agricultural firms. It integrates quantitative and qualitative indicators to evaluate management effectiveness across five key areas: financial, production, personnel, informational, and market-strategic. The toolkit allows identification of weak points, and through the use of an authorial strategic threat-benefit balancing matrix and a managerial vulnerability and development reserves map, it enables visualization of imbalances between threats and potential, identification of strategic priorities, and guidance of management decisions to enhance economic security effectiveness. The calculation of integrated effectiveness indicators and the strategic managerial tension indicator provides a comprehensive basis for informed decision-making and improving overall economic security.
