Lending to the Agricultural Sector of the Economy of Ukraine
Abstract. Introduction. The situation of the market of bank crediting of agricultural enterprises is analyzed. It is noted that lending to the agricultural sector is an exceptionally rich element for the country’s economy. Agriculture plays an important role in the development of the economy of Ukraine. It is not only provides food for the population, builds food security and food independence of the country, but also has a high export potential, which allows Ukraine to effectively integrate into global economic structures, increasing its own competitiveness. However, the current state of agricultural development does not correspond to its potential.
Purpose. Defining trends and conditions for the development of bank lending to agriculture in Ukraine by region. Determining the place of agricultural enterprises in the credit structure.
Results. Identified the main factors differentiating the provision of loans by region. Analyzed the distribution of bank loans by industry. Considered amounts of loans to non-financial organizations, by types of economic activity and repayment terms. Identified leading banks in the field of agrarian business lending. Identified urgent problems of insufficient financial resources for the development of enterprises of the agro-industrial complex. Determined the regions that have attracted the largest part of loan funds.
Conclusions. Highlighted that lending to agricultural enterprises is carried out mainly under short-term contracts, that is, the funds raised are directed to cover seasonal costs, support current economic activities, for example, the purchase of fuel and lubricants, fertilizers, seeds, plant protection products, veterinary drugs, etc. others Long-term lending, aimed at ensuring development, modernization of the material and technical base, technological renewal, remains at a very low level. Specified six ways of opportunities for MSMEs to access credit resources in all regions.
