Methodological Approaches in Researching the Competitiveness of Enterprisestor
Abstract. Introduction. In today’s globalized world and constantly changing business environment, the importance of assessing competitiveness is even greater. The use of different methodological approaches allows companies to adapt to new challenges and maintain their competitive advantage. In addition, the systematic improvement of competitive intelligence methods is key to effective business management and determining strategies for its further development.
Purpose. The purpose of the article is to generalize the methodological foundations for assessing the competitiveness of Ukrainian enterprises based on a critical analysis of existing methodological approaches and the use of system analysis and system approach. Emphasizing the importance of economic research by leading scholars in the field of methodological aspects of enterprise competitiveness, we note the need to focus on identifying existing approaches to formulate criteria for assessing the competitiveness of Ukrainian enterprises in foreign and domestic markets for goods and services. In particular, these approaches should include a systematic analysis and a systemic approach to better understand the factors that affect competitiveness and ensure their effective management.
Results. The article examines the importance of competitiveness management for domestic enterprises in the context of the current economic environment. The authors analyze the theoretical and methodological bases of assessment of competitiveness of enterprises and identify the main directions of its further improvement. The presented materials are aimed at improving the efficiency of strategic management and ensuring the competitive advantages of Ukrainian enterprises in international and domestic markets. The authors substantiate the constituent factors that determine the competitiveness of each enterprise and are specific in the choice of methods for assessing competitiveness. The importance of consistency in the choice of methodological bases for assessing the competitiveness of an enterprise is described. The integration of several methods can provide a more objective picture of the competitiveness of an enterprise, as well as provide more accurate and reliable results.
Conclusions Given the wide range of methods and approaches used in competitiveness research, researchers and practitioners have the opportunity to choose those that best suit their needs and the nature of the firms under study. At the same time, it is important to keep in mind the need to constantly update and adapt methods to changes in the business environment and consumer demands. Only such an approach will ensure sustainable competitive advantage and successful market performance in the long run. Therefore, there is no single universal methodology for assessing competitiveness. However, all these methods are aimed at improving quality, design, updating the product range, providing warranty and post-warranty service, reducing prices and effective product promotion. The use of such methods depends on the specific situation and characteristics of the industry to which the company under study belongs. The analysis process uses various methods and approaches, including questionnaires and surveys, analysis of financial indicators, expert opinions, comparative analysis, SWOT analysis, quantitative analysis, and stakeholder balance analysis. Researching and gathering information from various sources and assessing its reliability and relevance is a key step in the valuation process. Such a comprehensive approach allows to obtain an objective picture of the company’s competitiveness and provides an opportunity to develop effective strategies for its further development.
