Abstract. Introduction. Veterinary medicine is an integral part of our country. It ensures the health not only of animals, but also of people, because only by knowing the diseases of animals and being able to treat them, we can provide the population with safe products. However, workers in this industry are exposed to a variety of stressors that can lead to chronic stress. This requires effective stress management.
Purpose. The purpose of this article is to review the basic principles of stress management, as well as sources of stress in veterinary medicine, identifying key aspects that cause stressful situations for veterinary staff.
Results. This article deals with the topic of management of stressful situations in veterinary medicine. In particular, methods of personnel management in crisis situations and strategies for eliminating such situations are described.
The causes of stressful situations, related not only to the condition of the animals, but also to the emotional experiences experienced primarily by veterinarians, were analyzed. Special attention is paid to approaches to eliminate stress in wartime through personnel training and psychological support.
Conclusions. Stress management should focus on identifying sources of stress and using strategies to neutralize them. Time management, rational distribution of resources, implementation of information technologies, social support, healthy lifestyle, relaxation techniques contribute to reducing the stress level of employees. The presence of a multi-vector approach to stress management will contribute to the effective work of the staff of veterinary clinics.
