The Essence and Components of the Innovative Potential of the Enterprise
Abstract. Introduction. The trends in the formation of the post-industrial space dictate the need to find ways to develop and grow the resource component of production. In the era of the knowledge economy, it is innovations that become the main factor in the strategic growth of enterprises. Enterprises that inefficiently use their innovative potential sooner or later give way to advanced organizations in the market. The latter, applying innovations, can reduce production costs, receive additional profit, strengthen competitive advantages, maintain or increase their market share. Many researchers of the issue of management and development of innovative potential consider it as a key element in building a multifaceted complex and sustainable structure. At the same time, analysis of economic literature allows us to conclude that, on the one hand, the introduction of various areas of innovation in an enterprise is possible only if it has sufficient innovative potential, and on the other hand, as an object of management, it has not yet been studied enough. Currently, there is no unity among researchers in understanding the essence and structure of assessing innovative potential. It is advisable to reveal the essence of the concept of “innovative potential” through the definition of its composite categories.
Purpose. The aim of the article is a critical analysis of the available approaches of scientists to determining the essence and components of the innovative potential of an economic entity, their generalization and determining their own vision of the essence of this category. To solve the research goals and objectives set in the article, such general scientific and special research methods as analysis and synthesis, generalization, aspect, structural and system approaches were used.
Results. The essence of the innovative potential of the enterprise, as a system consisting of a combination of resources, available and potential opportunities for the introduction of innovations, as well as the ability of the enterprise to realize them through the manifestation of high innovation activity in the process of achieving the goals of innovative development, is substantiated.
Conclusions. Understanding of the innovative potential as a system can ensure high and constant competitiveness of the enterprise.
