Theoretical Principles of a Comprehensive Approach to Modeling the Commercial Activity of Wholesale Trade Enterprises
Introduction. To stimulate the development of the industry, which is the main driving force of the economy, the urgent task is to provide reliable sales channels of manufactured products, which is possible only through the services of wholesale companies. Wholesale enterprises perform an important social and economic function, being a necessary link in the commodity movement system, synchronizing the interests of producers and consumers of goods and providing jobs to the population.
Purpose. Domestic wholesale companies can gain a competitive advantage by improving the quality of their services and reducing the costs associated with their operations. Wholesale trade is an intermediary between the producer and the consumer, fulfilling the function of eliminating the spatial and temporal gap between the production of products and the need for those. Wholesale companies play a key role in the sales process and increase its efficiency. Several key features of wholesalers must be taken into account when modeling their business activities. Firstly, they must act as a facilitator between manufacturers and consumers through the purchase and sale of goods, which necessitates the anticipation of future demand from retailers, as well as the need to optimize the product range; transportation plays an important role, accounting for a considerable part of the cost. It is advisable in the current level of development of wholesale trade organizations to use an approach to modeling the commercial activities of such enterprises, which in a complex would solve these tasks. In particular, such approach would allow optimizing the traffic flows, assortment and inventory management system, as well as to forecast the dynamics of sales based on an imitation model, describing the consumer market.
Results. The stages of complex approach to modeling of commercial activity of wholesale trading enterprises are substantiated: optimization of assortment and inventory management; forecast sales of individual product groups to optimize deliveries; optimization of traffic flows of a trading enterprise, namely optimization of routes sales movement agents in the process of receiving their orders and optimization of transportation of products.
Conclusions. The feasibility of the integrated approach offered is that to maximize business efficiency, it is important to improve the entire purchasing system rather than the isolated development of individual operations.
