Interconnection of political and economic cycles in Ukraine
Abstract. Introduction. The interplay between political and economic cycles significantly influences the socio-economic trajectory of Ukraine. This article investigates the bidirectional impacts where political events trigger economic variances and economic conditions sway political developments. The study identifies how these dynamics shape Ukraine’s current state and future strategic planning.
Purpose. The paper delves into different political cycles, including electoral cycles, shifts in political culture, foreign policy dynamics, and Ukraine-specific military-economic cycles, exploring their individual and collective influence on the country’s developmental path.
Results. Through examining both domestic political shifts and international relations, the analysis highlights how foreign policy decisions and geopolitical conflicts, particularly recent military tensions with a neighboring country, affect Ukraine’s economic indicators. The implications of these military-economic interactions are scrutinized in depth.
Conclusions. The findings underscore the necessity for an integrated approach to understand the interdependencies between political and economic cycles in Ukraine. Such a holistic perspective aids in formulating effective governance strategies that address both internal and external challenges, thereby enhancing Ukraine’s socio-economic resilience. Considering various aspects of political and economic cycles, the need for a comprehensive approach to the analysis and management of the economy, which takes into account internal and external factors, historical experience and modern challenges, is emphasized. Today, more than ever, the importance of the legitimacy of political power is felt, which is the basis of stability and trust in society, which is critically necessary for economic development.
Keywords: political cycles, economic cycles, interrelation of politics and economy, military-economic cycle, electoral cycle, foreign policy vector, geopolitical conflicts.
