Assessment of Competitiveness of Agricultural Enterprises in the Mykolaiv Oblast in the Context of Sustainable Development

Abstract. Introduction. The competitiveness of agricultural enterprises in a market economy is determined by their position in product markets, i.e. their ability to produce and sell their own products, which are more attractive to consumers than the products of competitors in terms of price and non-price characteristics. Therefore, determining the competitiveness of agricultural enterprises in Mykolaiv Oblast will help to identify their strengths and weaknesses in order to implement measures to improve their competitive position on the market.

Purpose. The purpose of the article is to determine the competitiveness of agricultural enterprises in Mykolaiv region by various methods and directions for strengthening their competitive position among other agricultural enterprises.

Results. The article analyzes and suggests directions for improvement of competitiveness of agricultural enterprises of Mykolaiv Oblast taking into account conditions of sustainable development. The article provides generalized results on the assessment of competitiveness using various methods – comparative advantage, the theory of effective competition and benchmarking.

Conclusions. The article assesses the competitiveness of agricultural enterprises in Mykolaiv Oblast using the method of comparative advantages, the method of the theory of effective competition and benchmarking. The study showed that in 2020-2022 the best level of competitiveness among the agricultural enterprises selected for the study was demonstrated by Porichchya LLC, which reached the first place in the rating. The study formulated tasks to improve the competitive position of enterprises not only at the national, but also at the international level.
