Business Foreign Language as a Tool for Developing Managerial Competencies of Future Administrative Management Specialists

Abstract. Introduction. The article substantiates the need to reconsider the role of the academic discipline “Business Foreign Language” in the professional training of students majoring in “Management.” In the context of European integration, business digitalization, the use of English-language ERP/CRM systems, and cross-cultural interaction, foreign language training for administrative managers becomes an integral component of managerial competence rather than merely a communicative skill.

Purpose. The purpose of the study is to substantiate the role of business foreign language as a tool for developing managerial competencies of future administrative managers and to develop an integrative model of its application in professional training.

Results. It is determined that business foreign language proficiency contributes to the implementation of key elements of the managerial cycle, including analysis of the international environment, strategic planning, team organization, performance control, and managerial decision-making. The competencies developed through business foreign language training are systematized: strategic and analytical, communication and negotiation, project and organizational, cross-cultural, digital and administrative, and decision-making competencies. An integrative model combining competence-based, technological, and assessment blocks is proposed. The feasibility of using CLIL, case studies, business simulations, project-based learning, digital platforms, and AI tools for developing managerial competencies is substantiated. Indicators for assessing competency development are identified, including the quality of SWOT/PEST analyses, justification of negotiation positions, logic of project decisions, ability to work with English-language digital systems, and evidence-based managerial decision-making.

Conclusions. It is proved that business foreign language training in administrative manager preparation performs a system-forming function by integrating linguistic, digital, analytical, and managerial components of professional competence. The practical significance of the study lies in the possibility of using the proposed model to update educational components, develop business cases, and assess managers’ readiness to operate in an international business environment.
