Self-management of Career Development: Organizational and Methodological Toolkit
Abstract. Introduction. The importance of self-management as a means of achieving professional self-fulfillment, competitiveness, and career resilience is discussed. The emphasis is on strengthening the individual’s role in managing their professional trajectory.
Purpose. This article aims to provide a scientific basis for self-management in career development and to systematize the organizational and methodological tools necessary for its implementation. This will create the prerequisites for professional self-actualization, enhanced competitiveness, and career resilience.
Results. The article highlights the theoretical and practical aspects of managing one’s own career development. It systematizes the organizational and methodological toolkit of career development self-management. The organizational component’s content is revealed, including defining career goals, developing an individual professional growth trajectory, and using a career map and individual career plan. The features of the methodological component are also outlined, including tools for self-diagnosis, strategic planning, reflective analysis, and professional positioning. The possibilities of using SWOT and SWAN analyses of personality, the concept of career anchors by E. Schein, the GROW model, the Eisenhower matrix, the After Action Review method, and personal brand as tools for conscious management of professional careers are described. The article reveals their applied significance for self-diagnosis of professional potential, determination of career guidelines, formation of an individual career strategy, development of career adaptability, increased efficiency in the use of time resources, accumulation of professional experience, and strengthening of the individual’s competitive position in the labor market. Particular attention is paid to the personal brand as a modern tool for strengthening professional recognition, developing reputational capital, and expanding career opportunities.
Conclusions. It is proven that the complex use of the organizational and methodological toolkit of self-management of career development contributes to the objective assessment of professional potential, the determination of career priorities, the development of career adaptability, the increase in the efficiency of time use, and the formation of a strategic vision of the professional future.
