Trends in the Development of International Trade in Ukrainian Goods in Modern Conditions

Abstract. In the current conditions of the development of the world economy, international trade in goods is one of the key factors of economic growth and integration of the country into the global economic space.

Purpose. The purpose of this study is to identify current trends in Ukraine’s international trade of goods amid global economic transformations, military challenges, and shifts in foreign trade relations.

Methods. A combination of general scientific and specialized research methods was used in the course of writing the article. Methods of analysis and synthesis, statistical and comparative analysis, the economic-logical approach, generalization, graphical methods, and tabular methods were applied. These methods enabled a thorough evaluation of foreign trade trends and the influence of global economic and political factors.

Results. The article analyzes Ukraine’s current international trade in goods under conditions of economic instability and military challenges. Key transformations in the commodity structure of foreign trade were identified, including the growing influence of European Union countries in foreign trade turnover and the growing importance of logistical and security factors. Problematic aspects of Ukrainian export development have been identified, particularly the high dependence on certain goods and markets and the impact of global crises on foreign trade volumes. The study emphasizes the necessity of adapting national foreign trade policy to modern conditions and global challenges.

Conclusions. The study’s practical significance lies in its ability to inform strategic decisions in foreign trade and Ukraine’s foreign economic policy. These results can be used to develop export and import diversification strategies, optimize the commodity structure of foreign trade, enhance the competitiveness of Ukrainian goods in global markets, and monitor international trade development trends amid current economic and political challenges.
